Council Seats C, E, F, and G will be on the ballot at the regular Delta Junction Municipal Election on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.
Incumbent Audrey Brown is the only candidate to file for Seat C, a three-year term ending October 2020
Incumbent Jennifer Brant is the only candidate to file for Seat E, a one-year term ending October 2018
No one filed as a candidate for recently-vacated Seat F, a three-year term ending in October 2020
No candidate qualified for ballot inclusion for Seat G, a two-year term ending in October 2019
All four seats allow for write-in votes for candidates not on the ballot
Write-in candidates are eligible for city office if: a) they are a qualified voter within the city limits and b) a resident of the city for a period of not less than one year prior to the date of taking office.
A person is qualified to vote who: a) is a citizen of the United States; b) has passed their 18th birthday; c) has been a resident of the City of Delta Junction for at least 30 days preceding the election; d) has registered to vote 30 days before the election and is not registered in another jurisdiction; and e) is not disqualified under Article V of the State Constitution.
Application for absentee voting can be requested by mail or fax anytime between April 3, 2017 and September 22, 2017, but ballots cannot be mailed to an address within the City limits.
A qualified voter may apply for an absentee ballot in person on any day after the ballots are prepared, but not on Election Day.
Voters with disabilities who are unable to go to the polling place may vote through a personal representative.
Absentee ballots must be postmarked by midnight October 3, 2017 and received no later than October 13, 2017.
